Plagiarism Policy

JPESI publishes only original work that has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration by another journal.

Screening. Every submission is checked with [[Turnitin]] at initial screening and again before final acceptance. The maximum tolerated similarity index is [[20%]], excluding references and quotations properly attributed, and excluding any single source contributing more than [[5%]].

Forms of misconduct covered by this policy:

• Reproducing another author's text, data, figures, or ideas without attribution
• Self-plagiarism and redundant publication of the author's own previously published material
• Paraphrasing a source closely without citation
• Fabricating or manipulating data, images, or citations
• Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal

Consequences.

• Similarity above the threshold at screening: the manuscript is returned to the author for revision, or rejected.
• Plagiarism detected during review: the manuscript is rejected and the corresponding author is notified in writing.
• Plagiarism detected after publication: the Editorial Board follows COPE guidance, issues a retraction notice, and informs the authors' institutions. The retracted article remains accessible with a clear retraction watermark.
• Authors found responsible for serious misconduct may be barred from submitting to JPESI for [[three years]].

Authors are advised to check their own manuscript before submission and to obtain written permission from the copyright holder for any reproduced figure or table.
